Choosing a new game engine for the next version

I've been searching for a new game engine to use for developing the next version of Popup21.

I'm reviewing CT.JS and Godot. I like the simplicity and full HTML environment which CT.JS offers, however, Godot appears to be an interesting challenge to dive into.
